A common question is "how much is my bike worth?"
In my opinion most UO, AO, and UE bicycles in good to very good condition are worth from $100 to $150, while bicycles in fine to mint condition are worth up to $200. Of course, free market forces determine actual selling prices of individual bicycles. My observation is that EBay auction sales are inconsistent and often inflated compared to other markets. It only takes two to tango. On Ebay, prices for AO, UO and UE bicycles range from $50 to $400.
If you have the time, these bicycles can be purchased for ~ $50 at places such as garage sales, thrift shops and flea markets. Dump pick-ups are of course free. If you do not have time for the leg work, check out Craigslists, Local Bicycle Trader and Auction Zip, in addition to EBay.
New-in-box (NIB) finds are rare, and command premium prices. A NIB early 1970's UG-45CX and UO-18 sold for $325 and $375 on EBay in June and July of 2007, respectively (see photos below). Thanks to Joe Brown for permission to post his photos on the www.bikeboompeugeot website.
